About
Antwan Rodriguez
I'm Antwan Rodriguez — most people find me as AR Inks. I'm twenty-four, I've been tattooing for five years, and I got here the long way around.
I was born in Havana and started tattooing in South Beach, Miami. Miami teaches you speed: high volume, walk-ins, several styles in a single day, clients who want it finished now. I learned to draw fast and clean there, and I learned that fast is not the same thing as good.
Three years ago I moved up to West Palm Beach and changed the way I work. I take fewer clients now and give each one more time. Most of my work is black and gray realism — portraits, ornamental sleeves, surreal pieces — along with anime, hand-drawn lettering and calligraphy, and fine line ornamental work. Every piece is designed custom. I don't tattoo flash off a wall and I don't trace a screenshot; I redraw the idea for the body it's going on.
I speak English and Spanish, and the entire consultation can happen in either one. That matters more than people expect. A tattoo is permanent, and the conversation before it — what the piece means, where it sits, what it will look like in fifteen years — should happen in the language you actually think in. Atiendo en español.
The way I work is calm. No rushing, no talking you into something bigger than you came for, breaks whenever you need them. If your idea isn't ready yet, I'll tell you, and we'll wait until it is.
I tattoo at Wooden Heart Tattoo on US-1 in West Palm Beach, and I see clients from Boynton Beach and Lake Worth every week.
